Terry Fox Bank Note
As of early 2023, Terry Fox is one of the Canadian civilians being considered as the face of the redesigned five dollar bill; so I started thinking about a design myself.
I began by sampling the colours already used in the five; bilingual text and mention of the Bank of Canada are standard features I made sure to include. Fox’s portrait features the mountains in his home province of BC, and the landscape side shows him nearing the end of his run at Thunder Bay ON. The dark line on his T-shirt shows the Marathon of Hope route, and I pulled the oversized number 5 from the official 1986 design.
